Woodchips

I spent the day turning three piles of brush into woodchips with Andy and Danny. Even though it was work, it was like I had the day off today, hanging out with friends, enjoying the outdoors. I returned home when we finished and spread a bunch of woodchips out by our fence and next to the garage.

After woodchipping we went to my folks house, where Matt joined in the fun of eating burgers and playing cards for a bit, then we went to see Kicking & Screaming. Will Ferrel has certainly been cast in a lot of movies lately. I like him and the movies he’s in, but it’s feeling like a bit much.

It’s good to have Tara back from Chicago.

I hope I can remember to do all the things I have to do tomorrow.

Busy Week and Below the Water Line

Here’s the new Riverview set. I like it a lot, the way the posts on the left look turned out good, but not quite the way I planned it. Overall I’m happy with it. D/S Events loaned us a couple water effect lights.

The New Riverview Set

Spent a couple days in downtown Indy this week. It was totally different from my usual Indianapolis experiences. Downtown is really beautiful. The “heavenly” mattresses at the Westin really are amazingly comfortable. They had double shower-head showers too, which was awesome. I’m trying to get pictures of the actual event, it was a ridiculously huge setup.

When I got home Tara had cleaned everything up, like, way way up. The whole house was clean except my office, which was perfect because I hate not being able to find stuff in there. She’s so great. She even mowed the lawn while I was gone! If you see her ask her for a list of all the stuff she did because I can’t even explain all of it.

Indianapolis

Headed to Indy in the morning. It’s a work thing so while I’m there I’ll either be working or sleeping. It should be pretty fun. See ya Friday.

15 hours

I just spent the last 15 hours setting up, working at, and tearing down a Douglas J fashion show thing. I’m dead tired. When I got home I found that Tara had Done the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen, and was just finishing making dinner. She is so great.

Trap Doors

Star Wars III was indeed good. I now look forward to watching the old ones again, knowing their background.

I stopped at Meijer on my way home. As I was walking into the store I saw a fellow standing inches away from one of the doors looking very confused and possibly fearful that he had in fact been trapped inside the store by a mysterious unknown force. Fortunately he was able to escape by…

Actually, I should also tell you what I saw as I was leaving. A lovely young couple, caught in a similar predicament, looking around, perhaps in embarrassment because they too had fallen into the trap. But be assured, they were eventually able to disentangle themselves from this terrible plight.

The answer to this riddle is that people aren’t too bright. There are two exit doors, one opens automatically and the other is one of the ‘old-fashioned,’ manual, brute force, push-to-open types. I would advise anyone brave enough to enter any given store to be wary of these dangerous obstacles, they are bloodthirsty villains. Also, should you be caught, pretend that the door just plain doesn’t work at all or is locked and go to another door, that way you don’t appear to be illiterate, as the people I saw earlier apparently were.
