New Connection

The connection at work has been painfully slow since we switched from our $900/month ACD/KMC T1 to an $80/month TDS XData about a year and a half ago.

I contacted Comcast on Monday and on Tuesday faxed them the paperwork they had emailed. Today (Friday) they came around noon and did the installation (20 minutes) and at 1:30 I made the necessary changes to our killer firewall. The speed tests I did came up something like this:

Xdata (partial T1) – 450k
Cable (corporate) – 4600k

It’s mostly a beaufitul thing. On the inside of our firewall, though, the speed is only two or three times as fast.

It’s good anyway.

  3. I think the school should have an OC12 connection. For faster learning capabilities.
