Plea for Assitance

A few years ago I sold my refurbished Dell Latitude, which I had bought in 1999.

Last November I sold the Dell Inspiron 4100 I had purchased in 2002.

I struck a deal just the other day to sell my Compaq TC1000 TabletPC.

This leaves me with no laptop to call my own.

I need your help, give me links or the make/model of any laptop you can find that you think might even possibly suit me. If I end up getting the laptop you recommend I will give you a two dollar bill and a golden paperclip. This is not a joke.

What should I get?

(Multiple recommendations accepted, though only the first serious recommendation for the chosen model will recieve any prizes.  Providing stats for the laptop you enter is appreciated, but not necessary to win.)

  1. Get the Dell 710m! It’s small but packs a good punch. Plus it’s screen is 1280×1024.

  6. Very good suggestions so far.

Drew… principal vs capital? That’s not any kind of laptop I’ve heard of.

  7. No…but it would be senseless to buy a laptop now seen as though you are using currently using a Dell. I would invest the money (in certificate of deposit, stock market, REAL ESTATE) then when you can’t use the Dell anymore, use the interest earned from the investment towards the purchase of a new laptop. This way you can keep the principal invested and use still use capital towards the purchase of more and more laptops down the road.

  8. Whatever you’re smoking, I want some.

I wouldn’t be looking to get a laptop if I could continue to use the Dell from work. As far as purchasing power goes, I’m finishing a project right now (http://rlsinvestment.com) that should pay for the portion of the laptop that the sale of my tablet won’t cover.

Also, I can’t invest the couple grand I have available and wait for the interest to build to the point where I can purchase a laptop with it… that would take years.

  10. I can offer no advice on this subject. But you SHOULD purchase the Verry SKittles in the purple bag. THAT I know for sure.
